# House rules

> A school's community can add a few short house rules on top of the Hubabble Community Guidelines. Here is how they work.

## Two layers of rules

Everywhere in the Community, the [Hubabble Community Guidelines](https://hubabble.com/community-guidelines) apply. They're the ground rules: protect your clients, treat people well, and give more than you take.

A school's community can add its own **house rules** on top. They're short and specific to that community, like "What classmates share in practice stays here."

### What house rules can and can't do

- House rules can **add** to the Community Guidelines.
- House rules can never **loosen** them. The Guidelines always apply.

### Where to find them

When a community has house rules, they sit in each of its spaces' sidebars, under the community card. On a phone, tap **About**. Tap a rule to read the details.

The Hubabble community has no house rules. The Community Guidelines cover it.
